About the project
Про книгу

It's a comic book based on scientific articles in the field of neuroscience. Two friends (psychology student and art student) explore various cognitive psychology studies related to their every-day life. They don't only retell the findings but discuss everything with the researches who conducted the experiments. There are seven chapters planned.
We have already been included in cartoonscience.org list of science comics and Ivy Plus LibrariesGlobal Webcomics Web Archive.

Мы пишем научно-популярный комикс по когнитивной психологии. В нем две подруги (студентка-психолог и иллюстратор) узнают про разные исследования памяти, непосредственно связанные с их повседневной жизнью, и обсуждают это с учеными, которые проводили эти эксперименты. Мы планируем написать семь глав.
Наш комикс включили в международный список научных комиксов на сайте cartoonscience.org и в архив комиксов Ivy Plus Libraries (Библиотека Лиги Плюща).

Master student, Moscow State University, major: cognitive psychology. Young scientist, was working at Daniel Schacter's lab (Harvard Psychology Department) and Clifford Woolf's lab (Harvard Stem Cell Institute). Popular science lecturer and writer, TEDx speaker.

Проходила стажировку в Гарварде - именная стипендия HIP (Harvard Medical School, лаборатория Clifford Woolf), 2015. В 2018 г работала в лабораториях Satu Palva (University of Helsinki, Finland), Daniel Schacter (Harvard Psychology Department, USA). С 2017 г. лектор фонда «Эволюция».
Заканчивает МГУ им. М.В. Ломоносова (факультет психологии, cпециалитет, специальность - клиническая психология, специализация - психофизиология).

Марина Евланова

Professional illustrator and graphic designer, member of Comics Publisher group. Author of Glint and The Greatest Fraud. Student at Moscow State University of Printed Arts. Participated in the Author Alleys at NiNoCon, Russia ComicCon, ComMission, Mors. Book Illustration Competition 2019, House of Illustration & Folio Society – longlisted artist.

Профессиональный иллюстратор и графический дизайнер, член издательской группы "Комикс Паблишер". Студентка Московского Государственного Университета Печати. Автор комиксов "Блики" и "The Greatest Fraud", участник выставок плаката "Авторского Комикса" и "NiNoCon", участник фестиваля "Russia ComicCon", "КомМиссия", маркета фестиваля "Морс". Комиксы - это отличный новый формат популяризации науки. Они легко воспринимаются, у них низкий порог входа. Люди уверены, что они просто развлекаются, а на самом деле знакомятся с современными исследованиями и между делом впитывают принципы, на которых основана наука, например, такие как воспроизводимость. Надеюсь, что Полина и Марина закончат этот проект и выпустят его в виде книжки, которая будет продаваться в каждом ларьке в аэропорту.

This looks very promising! First of all congratulations on getting the project started. I know it's not easy to find the time without any funding or support.

Given your current characters it looks like this would be ideal for college student who are thinking a lot about studying and learning. I think focusing on memory is a great idea!

These are terrific! I think the text and images are straight-forward, clear and very appealing. It is not easy to distill complex ideas into easy to understand visual stories and you have done that very well. I like that you have taken a single paper and placed the results in a context of two friends sharing ideas. I also like that you show us the scientists that did the work. This really humanizes the research.
Keep up the great work! I'm sure that I will be reading your comics in the years to come. I would direct my students to your comics as evidence of the importance of various studying techniques.
